Data Analytics Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) - Units 3 and 4*

Our Data Analytics Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are written by experienced VCE teachers, who are also VCE Exam Assessors. These tasks are available exclusively to schools and are available in electronic or hardcopy format. A variety of tasks are available for both Unit 3 and Unit 4.

Students are not permitted to order these tasks.

The Data Analytics Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are offered to schools copyright free for the restricted use of students of that school only.

TSSM's Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are designed to address the key assessment areas of the Informatics Study Design. These tasks are an invaluable resource for schools to assess students on the coursework requirements for Unit 3 and 4 Data Analytics. All tasks are supplied with full solutions and response guides.

Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) for Data Analytics have been prepared for both Units 3 and 4. The following packages are available to schools:

Unit 3 Package includes 5 tasks -

Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 (One option included):

1. In response to teacher-provided solution requirements and designs:
   • extract and reference data from large repositories into a database
   • query data using databases and SQL
   • use spreadsheet functions to manipulate data
   • statistically analyse data in spreadsheets
   • develop data visualisations.

Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 (Five options included):

1. A documented research question and a project plan (Gantt chart) indicating tasks, times, milestones, dependencies and the critical path
2. An analysis that defines the requirements, constraints and scope of infographics and/or dynamic data visualisations
3. A collection of complex data sets that has been referenced
4. A folio of design ideas and evaluation criteria
5. Detailed design specifications of the preferred design.

Unit 4 Package includes 5 tasks -

Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 (Two options included):

1. Infographics and/or dynamic data visualisations that present findings in response to a research question AND An evaluation of the efficiency and effectiveness of infographics and/or dynamic data visualisations and An assessment of the effectiveness of the project plan (Gantt chart) in monitoring project progress using a Written Report
2. Infographics and/or dynamic data visualisations that present findings in response to a research question AND An evaluation of the efficiency and effectiveness of infographics and/or dynamic data visualisations and An assessment of the effectiveness of the project plan (Gantt chart) in monitoring project progress using am Annotated Visual Plan

Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 (Three options included):

1. Structured questions
   A report in multimedia format
   Written Report

These tasks provide teachers with a degree of flexibility when setting assessment tasks for their students. While TSSM thoroughly checks the accuracy and relevance of these Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET), prior to assessing students, it is the individual school's responsibility to ensure that these are an appropriate form of assessment.

*Unit 3 Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) will be released on February 6, 2025 and Unit 4 will be released on May 29, 2025. Orders made in advance are welcome.
